What could your community group do with $20,000?

The Stronger Communities Programme will open soon for a third round of funding grants with expressions of interest open now.

Up to $150,000 of funding will be available in Calwell for small capital projects which improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy of our local community.

Grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 each are available for projects, but to be eligible, the community group needs to provide matched contributions, in cash or in kind (goods, labour, partner funding) on a dollar for dollar basis.

You might not have the cash on hand right now, but you could raise your contribution through a fundraising campaign, special donations, donated goods and services, or a matching grant from another body. Eligible projects might include upgrades or fit-outs of community centres, sporting facilities upgrades, purchase of equipment for local service organisations, park furniture, BBQ’s, storage sheds. Successful applicants must be a legal entity (such as an incorporated association) and have an Australian Business Number (ABN).
