In relation to Dr. Chris Towie and concerns over local health care, Maria Vamvakinou MP stated today:
"I have had the opportunity to speak with Dr Chris Towie, as well as several other local doctors regarding some of the challenges that this area continues to face when it comes to health care and service provision."
In response to ongoing community calls for a new government Secondary School to be built in Greenvale, Maria Vamvakinou MP stated today:
“It is clear that the population growth rates of Greenvale and its surrounding area mean that more schools need to be built if we are to address the ongoing educational needs of our local school children.”
In response to concerns over a licence renewal for Tullamarine Cleanaway Waste Dump, Maria Vamvakinou MP stated today:
“I completely understand community fears regarding the safety of the Tullamarine Cleanaway Waste dump. Put simply, the Tullamarine Cleanaway Waste dump must close, and I am strongly against any effort to have the tip’s licence renewed.”
Ongoing negotiations over Ajax and concerns over the fate of 10,000 automotive workers
Maria stated today:
“As it stands, the fate of up to 10,000 automotive industry jobs depends on the success of current negotiations aimed at averting the closure of the car component manufacturer Ajax Engineers Fasteners.”
