Two local initiatives in the Calwell community have received Australian Government funding to help honour the service of local veterans, Member for Calwell Maria Vamvakinou said today.
Ms Vamvakinou said $3200 had been approved by the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Warren Snowdon, as part of the Saluting Their Service commemorations program.

Federal Member for Calwell  Maria Vamvakinou  today congratulated 3  local educators  who have been awarded $5000  each as  part of a Australian Government Scholarship for Career Advisers.
Ferah Kevser Gunduz, George Georgostathis and Kate Crowhurst are the career advisers at Isik College, Gladstone Park Secondary College and Hume Central Secondary College respectively. The three are currently guiding students in taking the major step from school to further education or employment.
