ANZAC Day - 25 April

“ANZAC day is a day of national commemoration where we honour the memory and sacrifice of Australia’s servicemen and women” Ms Vamvakinou said.

“Their service and sacrifice is epitomized by the spirit of the original ANZACs.”

“ANZAC day is a day of enormous significance for our nation. It is a day when the nation comes together and when Australian children are encouraged to learn more about Australian history” Ms Vamvakinou.

“Locally, it is a day to pay tribute to the many servicemen and women who live in the electorate of Calwell.”

“I encourage the local community to get involved in ANZAC commemorations held on April 25.”

“At a time when war and conflict dominate the news from overseas, and with Australian servicemen and women currently serving in both peace keeping and war operations, ANZAC day takes on a special poignancy.”
