Volunteering success in Calwell

I want to say a big congratulations to Jessica Camilleri on receiving the Young Achievers award for the important volunteer work she does in the Calwell community.

Jessica joined the Meadows Volunteer Pathway some years ago and has completed her Diploma of Children’s services. She has been working to develop a “Movement for Learning” program for parents and children attending the Wednesday playgroup.

I also want to thank Maureen Leahy, Meadows Early Learning Centre, Hub Coordinator for all her important work she does at the school and beyond in creating a socially cohesive community in Calwell. Maureen has created a wecloming early learning centre - community hub at Meadows Primary School. She has also been instrumental in developing the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden. The students get to work on the garden and then eat the beautiful fresh produce they've grown.
